Governance Training

On Wednesday June 13th evening, 9 of our management committee were able to make time to attend Governance training.

Along with representatives from 4 other community owned early childhood services we learnt more about the roles and responsibilities of Not for Profit organisations. During the program the presenter shared techniques on:

  • Getting Governance Right – The Ten Principles;
  • Board Member/Committee Member Fundamentals;
  • Responsibilities and Staying on Top of Changes;
  • Organisational Sustainability;
  • Strategic Planning
  • Resilience and Staying Motivated;……. and much more

We thank the Management Committee for their ongoing commitment to our preschool and our children and for making time for this training.

Computer upgrade

Over the years we have been very fortunate to benefit from the donation of computers when businesses update. Currently all our computers and monitors have been donated to
the preschool in this way. This does pose challenges when they get to the end of their life and in fixing issues that arise.

Computer technology contributes much to the efficiency and smooth running of any business. It also is important as educators document children’s learning journeys.
The Management Committee have allocated funds to upgrade the preschool computers.

Opportunity

We recognise the complexity of parenting is increasing in our fast paced, connected world. The KCP Strategic Plan “positions children and their rights at the heart of our community” With one of the goals being to; “2.5 Support families in their parenting role.” We are currently researching speakers and courses relevant to families and parenting that can give ideas and strategies to be added to a family’s parenting tool box. More details to follow.
