Preparing for Preschool

We believe it is important for children to be happy and settled in their learning environment. Children learn through play.

Each day your preschooler will need:

sun hat with brim for play at preschool

A hat – sun protection. A bucket, wide brim or legionnaires style hat offers the best protection. Caps and visors are not considered suitable protection.

Shoes for active play – joggers. Thongs and slip-ons are not suitable for running and climbing.

Additionally:

child may bring a comforter to preschool

If you child has a comforter which will make them feel more at ease they are welcome to bring it to preschool.

please name label everything that comes to preschool

Please label everything you send so it can be returned if it is misplaced. This can help to reduce confusion and distress for children as they are settling in.

please leave fragile items at home

It is best to keep fragile, very precious or expensive items at home. With 40 children at preschool each day and a large space it is easy for items to be lost or broken.
